26 October 2026

Every year, World Amyloidosis Day brings the international amyloidosis community together to raise awareness of a rare and complex disease that remains too often overlooked.

On 26 October 2026, the Amyloidosis Alliance will celebrate the 6th World Amyloidosis Day, bringing together patient organisations, patients, families, healthcare professionals and supporters around the world.

One day. One community. A global message.

Amyloidosis can be difficult to recognise and diagnose. Its symptoms may vary considerably depending on the type of amyloidosis and the organs affected, while the disease remains relatively unknown to both the general public and healthcare professionals.

This lack of awareness can contribute to significant diagnostic delays.

World Amyloidosis Day was created to address this challenge by bringing the disease into the spotlight and encouraging everyone involved in the amyloidosis community to become a link between patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers and society as a whole.

The campaign’s central message is simple:

Together, we can be the link.

An international campaign across more than 19 countries

For the 2026 edition, the World Amyloidosis Day campaign will be shared internationally through the network of patient organisations connected with the Amyloidosis Alliance.

More than 19 countries will take part, creating a truly international movement to make amyloidosis better known and to give greater visibility to the experiences of people living with the disease.

From Europe to other parts of the world, local organisations will be able to adapt and share the campaign within their own communities while contributing to one common international message.

This coordinated approach reflects one of the Alliance’s core strengths: bringing together patient organisations across borders to amplify the voice of the amyloidosis community.

Campaign materials available to everyone

To support this worldwide mobilisation, the Amyloidosis Alliance has developed a complete set of campaign materials.

The resources are available for organisations and individuals who wish to participate and may include:

  • campaign visuals and key messages;
  • social media content;
  • downloadable communication materials;
  • and materials that can be adapted and shared in different countries.

The objective is to make it as easy as possible for everyone to take part and help spread awareness.

Whether you are a patient organisation, healthcare professional, patient, caregiver, researcher or supporter, you can help make amyloidosis more visible.

Why awareness matters

Amyloidosis remains a rare and complex disease, and greater awareness is essential to improving the patient journey.

Recognising the disease earlier can contribute to faster diagnosis, better access to specialised care and, ultimately, improved management and quality of life.

But awareness is not only about medicine.

It is also about ensuring that patients and their families feel seen, understood and supported.

World Amyloidosis Day is therefore a day to connect the entire community, and to remind everyone that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family and a unique story.

Join the movement

On 26 October, let’s make amyloidosis visible.

Share the campaign. Use the available resources. Talk about amyloidosis. Support patients and caregivers. Help healthcare professionals recognise the disease.

One message can reach one person.
One person can make a difference.
Together, we can be the link.
