Since April 2026, the Amyloidosis Alliance has welcomed Pascal Combes as its new Director.
With a long professional career in the pharmaceutical industry and extensive experience in leadership, transformation and strategic development, Pascal brings to the Alliance a strong understanding of the healthcare environment and the challenges facing patients, healthcare organisations and the wider rare disease community.
His arrival marks an important new chapter for the organisation as the Alliance continues to strengthen its international role and support the development of a stronger, more connected global amyloidosis community.
A career shaped by healthcare and transformation
Pascal Combes has built a career spanning around three decades in the pharmaceutical industry, working in an international and rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
Throughout his professional journey, he has developed expertise in areas including financial management, business transformation, organisational development and strategic leadership.
His experience has given him a broad perspective on the healthcare ecosystem and on the importance of bringing different stakeholders together around common objectives.
Today, he is putting this experience at the service of the amyloidosis community.
Strengthening the Alliance’s international mission
The Amyloidosis Alliance brings together patient organisations working across countries to improve awareness, diagnosis, access to treatment, research, information and advocacy in amyloidosis.
As Director, Pascal Combes will contribute to strengthening this international network and supporting the Alliance’s development.
His role will include helping to build stronger relationships between member organisations, healthcare professionals, researchers, institutions and other stakeholders, while ensuring that the needs and voices of patients remain at the heart of the Alliance’s work.
Connecting expertise, organisations and patients
Amyloidosis is a complex and diverse disease. Improving the lives of people affected by amyloidosis requires collaboration across borders and across disciplines.
For the Alliance, international cooperation is therefore not simply a way of sharing information. It is a way of creating stronger connections, encouraging the exchange of experience and ensuring that progress made in one country can benefit patients elsewhere.
This collaborative approach will remain central to the Alliance’s development.
